Taste of Shevet: 8th and 9th Grade Boys

Please join us for a unique afternoon on Sunday, September 30 from 4-6 pm for Boulder area Jewish 8th & 9th grade boys and their parents to get a "taste-of" what Shevet is all about.  This intimate gathering will be fun for both parents and teens, enable us to meet each other as well as the caring, compelling and cool group leaders, Bryan Goldstein & Alex Jacobson.   The first Shevet session will take place in late September and meet once per month for 2 hours, September-May.  Following the "Taste-Of,"  parents can register their sons, if desired.

Please share this invite with any other Jewish families with sons in 8th or 9th grade.  As we will offer some nosh, please RSVP so that we can plan properly.

Taste of Rosh Hodesh: 8th and 9th Grade Girls

Camp Inc. Coding Camp

We live in an open-source society where coding is the popular form of creating. During this course, campers will learn how to develop in Python, build databases, build programs, and gain a competitive advantage in school and beyond. Campers will learn how to build their own software programs using Raspberry Pi computers. 

All skill levels welcomed.

Congregation Har HaShem: Youth Shabbat

Youth Shabbat is a special Shabbat service held once a month for kids and teens in grades 3-12. It is planned and led by the youth group board. These services are fun and interactive! The youth group board creates services that encourage participants to move around and talk to each other. We also are very musical and have song leaders that lead prayer with their guitars. Everyone is welcome! 

When: Friday, April 27 from 6:00 - 7:00 PM

Where: Youth Shabbat Services are in the South Building at Har HaShem (at the same time as regular services in the North building).

Tech Teens

Community Service Hours!

As Tech Teens we will meet and connect with residents while helping out with various tech needs! We begin to roll our eyes at the adults in our lives at about age 10 with their inefficiency with technology.  But we must remember it is a generational thing! There is nothing more frustrating than not being able to figure out how to download a book on your Kindle or how to look at that photo of your adorable grandchild sent over e-mail.

When: April 22nd @ 1 pm-3 pm
Where: Meridian Boulder – Brookdale Senior Living
Consistency: Weekend (Sunday)
Eligibility: 7-12 Grade

J-Serve Registration & Showcase

J-Serve: Be part of international movement of Jewish Teens committing to a cause! 

Step 1: Register. If your organization wants to be a part of JServe, keep an eye on your email for the registration form! Either email raltman@bbyo.org or sign up today on our email list to receive all the updates and interest forms.

Step 2: Incorporate your chosen cause/partner organization into at least three programs by April 15th. Be creative! This can include clothing drives, volunteer opportunities, education, and more!

Step 3: Join us on April 15th for a project showcase and advocacy training! Show off your projects to the community and give your teens the opportunity to learn about the next steps in their service, advocacy, and community involvement!

What does this mean for you?

-       Formal training and structure to enhance community service and social justice

-       Community wide engagement and visibility

-       Additional funding for projects already in the natural scope of your programming

-       Building partnerships with local non-profits

-       Expanding the scope of your community service programming

J-Street Conference Scholarships!

J-Street is offering scholarships for teens to attend the 2018 "A Voice for Today, A Vision for Tomorrow" conference. You will have the opportunity to meet with our Representatives in Congress to lobby for a fair two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict. The scholarship includes waiving the conference fee ($450) and up to $600 for travel and a hotel.  Learn more about this exciting opportunity here!
