First Session of Born in the J'USA

Born in the J'USA in the Rabbi's basement with Jeff Raizen

This is the first of a new 4-part series of current event topics in the United States viewed through a Jewish American history lens.

In this first session, find out why Jews coming to America in 1654 changed the experience of what it meant to be a Jew in society as compared to any previous experience anywhere else in the world.  We'll look at the tension of what it means to stand out in a society and what it means to blend in.  Special guest speaker Boulder County Treasurer and former CO state representative, Paul Weissmann, will answer questions about this tension from his experience in state and local government.

Open to all post B'nai Mitzvah students. Come discuss, and debate!

When: Saturday, October 7th from 11-12 PM

Where:  Rabbi Mark Soloway's house

For more information contact: Karen Raizen at karen@bonaishalom.org.
